Plan the rollout and the way back.
These pages come from the blank deployment and rollback PDFs included in the current pack. Enlarge them to inspect the fields before choosing the files for your release.
How to choose the right level of change control
Start with a change request and classify the risk. Add the technical impact assessment when a change affects shared systems, data, integrations, security, or recovery. This keeps routine work manageable while making higher-risk releases easier to review.
Plan the release from request to review
- Record the change, its impact, and the owners.
- Prepare deployment and rollback plans, release checks, and production validation.
- Use the cutover runbook to record implementation evidence and communications.
- Complete the post-release review after validation.
Example: match the change record to the risk
- Routine change: A dashboard heading is corrected without changing data logic, permissions, or integrations. Record the owner, timing, expected wording, validation step, and how to restore the previous wording.
- Higher-risk change: A shared database field used by two applications changes. List the affected data and integrations, review the impact with both application owners, prepare deployment and rollback plans, and validate both applications after release.
These fictional cases illustrate how the templates can scale. Classify real changes under your team's own risk and approval rules. The pack also includes a separately labeled completed fictional example to show how its templates fit together.
